  My bunny is exited at night sometimes and won’t stop biting his cage! It’s very annoying and I can’t sleep. Any tips?

  Biting of the cage bars can be attributed to many things. Stress, boredom, lack of adequate space, or tooth issues. Does your rabbit have a large enough cage and plenty of free run time? You might try adding an extra pen to your rabbit’s cage. Adding additional toys and chews to keep your rabbit entertained could help, try cardboard, hay, and wood toys. You can try wiping the bars with vinegar or lemon juice to deter chewing, or covering the problem areas with cardboard. If nothing helps, you might want to ask your vet if the chewing could be due to tooth issues. Good luck!

  I think he does it for attention. I am getting him an Xpen in a few days and that could fix it.b

  Make sure the bun has plenty of time out of the cage and that he has stuff to chew on (safe wood pieces, hay pellets…).
  When he was little, my bun started to do it because he wanted to bite stuff, but I immediately discouraged the behaviour by yelling him a stern “NO!” and not rewarding him with treats or pets for a while after that. Not only because of the noise, but because metal isn’t done to be chewed and it could damage the teeth in the long run.
  
  Scary story time: my cousin’s guinea pig broke off one front tooth because she allowed him to do it for years…
