Hello! Hoping someone can give me some ideas as to what could be going on with my female mini lop, Chamomile. I’ve only had her for about a month and she was rescued as a stray, so I don’t know much about her health history. About ten days ago, she started having some GI issues that I resolved myself with the medicines I had when my other rabbit had GI stasis. They seemed to help and she got better within a day or so. She started eating and passing again, but the pellets were kind of wet and oddly shaped. Her belly also seemed to stick out a little and felt hard. So I took her to the vet and he said she seemed fine, just a little gassy. He even tested her feces for parasites. Her behavior was normal along with eating habits, so he suggested that she might need more fiber in her diet. So I have been giving her Sherwood pellet food that are hay based and can be free fed, and so far that seems to help.
Now her pellets are mostly dry again, but she seems to have lost her previously flawless litter habits. She randomly drops pellets all over and barely ever goes in the box. Sometimes they have a weird shine to them and they smell so I wonder if she’s marking her territory, but that seems odd for her since she adores me and her husbun and she’s not aggressive at all. She’ll urinate in the box most of the time, but sometimes she goes randomly outside of it. I’ve also noticed that she’s been drinking a ton of water. Her urine is almost clear. Her belly also still seems a little pudgy and I often hear it making noises.
I have no idea what could possibly be going on with her. Her behavior seems normal so that at least helps my worrying. Could anyone possibly have some ideas to what could be wrong?
Thanks for your help!
