Hello! I’m usually called as Petal, a university student in the Philippines and I have two bunnies, Qofi and Qir. (pronounced as coffee and kir)

At first, I really only had one which I received as a gift but then she died after 2 weeks. I was still researching about rabbit care and she was still binkying the day before the incident. I was so devastated I don’t know why she died

During the two weeks that I was with my dear Xieri (my baby whom I lost), I fell in love with bunnies and got my eyes opened to the fact that bunnies are often given as gifts, which is actually heartbreaking. I decided to buy two female bunnies and this time, give them proper care instead of being bought by others and being left in cages or breed to make money.

My family rescues dogs and cats; currently we give home to 27 cats and 13 dogs, but I keep my two bunnies in a different house with 2 tamed cats who are actually being befriended by my dear Qir.

I have only been with my female bunnies for about 6 days. They are too young to be spayed yet. They are very sweet and calm. ♥

I must admit, I know nothing of bunny care. But I want to learn. I will learn to provide the utmost care for my bunnies. I hope you guys here can help me  I also want to make friends who can relate in taking care of a bunny.

I’m sorry I cannot post a picture of them yet!

P.S.: I apologize if the font is too big for your eyes, I can’t see well

Hi! Those are cute names. Just make sure they both are indeed females so that you don’t end up with an accidental litter of buns .

Welcome to Binky Bunny! The BUNNY INFO link at the top of the page has a lot of helpful information on all the basics of rabbit care, and the members here are always glad to answer questions.

As Luna said, definitely make sure that your bunnies are both females. It’s happened a lot that people were told they had 2 rabbits of the same gender, then they were surprised with an unplanned litter a month or two later. Also, once rabbits reach puberty, at around 3 or 4 months of age, they will need to be separated to prevent any hormone driven aggression and fighting. It doesn’t matter if they were litter mates or if they were together at a young age. It all changes when puberty hits. Rabbits can really injure each other if they fight. At some point, they will need to be housed separately and out for exercise and play separately. Then after their spay surgery and about a month has passed, you can start the permanent bonding procedures. Bonding is one of the topics you will see in the BUNNY INFO link.
