I have absolutely no idea how to navigate this website but I thought I’d take the time to introduce my buns to the world. I’ve used this website many times for advice but it’s difficult to find info specific to your buns so I figured why not join and pester you all with my inexperience!
I’ve only had Marble and Dudley for a year and a half and they’re both my first experience of rabbit parenthood.
Marble was adopted and didn’t have a very high opinion of humans.. she was bonded with another rabbit but on the day that I picked her up they had been separated!
She was handled very poorly, they were handsy grabby and dropped her on the day I collected her.. she was very aggressive but I didn’t let that to put me off, if I’m honest I just wanted her out of there. It took a few months to adjust to her needs and behaviours but she’s a lovely gal. Overtime we have built a trusting bond and she particularly likes cheek tickles and bunny massages and gives a subtle nudge when she requires them but some days she just wants you to give her the food and leave..
I’m just glad she has grown confidence since her last experience of human contact!
I got Dudley from someone in my village, he was very affectionate so we had a very good human/bun bond with dudles but when he bonded with Marble she got all of his kisses
When she isn’t looking however he does come for a tickle, he just doesn’t like it when the humans cramp his style in front of his lady friend..
I’ve learnt the ins and outs of rabbits the hard way as I probably bit off more than I could chew getting Marbs as a first time bun but perseverance and patience has paid off, my partner would still prefer a dog but whilst we live together he will have to be happy with buns! Or as I call them, Scuttlebums.
This is a long winded hello but, hello and this is the short story of my buns
