Hello there I am Clovers mom

I came here to share in the joy of bunny mom hood. I was always fascinated with rabbits but sadly never seemed to get one as my husband had decided they were not to come in our house. I did however do wildlife rehab for years and it was cottontails.  so I discreetly got my bunny fix.

Then I finally broke him down and he agreed more or less. So we were slowly buying supplies and we not to get one till may…. yup that did not happen. I started looking on sites and had decided I wanted a male lop with hopes of a lot of white. So we started visiting pet stores to look for cages (as a bun could not be a house bunny here all day as I have 3 dogs and one with mild chase drive) and in the store was this itty bitty tiny bunny. I decided immediately not to get her as she was the wrong sex, and color and not good looking health wise. She was a runt from a previous litter and sadly the breeder brought her in a bit too young. The store was trying really hard with her but with limited staff it was difficult, but they were trying. She was skinny with diarrhea and had a bum covered in poop. I asked to see her and it was then I noticed no hay in the cage and the pellets are soo rich. So as I hold this little waif my husband asks if I can fix her? I say probably if just stress and well that about sums it up…. home she came

She came home and received grass hay for 48 hours till settled in. Then she received a warm baby shampoo bath of her bottom with a good rinse. At this point she had good round stool and was started on tiny amounts of pellets and papaya. She has now been here a few weeks and has more then doubled in size. She is litter box trained and loves full body massages and stretches out her feet and grinds/purrs her teeth. She just started produce last night and seems to enjoy her life here sleeping with her stuffed kitty. She currently uses pine shavings for litter but it slowly is going over to yesterdays news. My lovely husband bought her a lovely cage and she also has an indoor playpen and an outdoor expen with plenty of toys.

Hello and welcome!! First off, while reading this I had such a big smile on my face. It is so wonderful of you and your husband to take such amazing care of her and it sounds like she is doing wonderful

Welcome! She looks so adorable… I always want a gray or blue bunny but im happy with my Frappy. He is alllllllll i want and more I was reading your story and it was so touching!! Im glad you helped her

Thank you Longliveloyalbuns I wanted one marked like yours but she has me under heart lock and key already.

We also have   3 Dogs (Rough collie 7yrs Logan, Pomeranian 3.5yrs Teegan, Papichi 1yr Tanner)      3 Dwarf hamsters (2.7yrs mom Darla, son 2yrs Smudge, son 2yrs choco)      4 Betas (Chameleon, Panda,Dragon and Holly)      a rat (8months Tinker)  +  plus my bunny who is 10 weeks .

Thank you she actually underneath has almost black hair and the tips are grey bands, I beleive it is called Chinchilla. Yours has neat markings too.

Hey your bun has a stuffy too  I was pleased it warmed your heart. The playpen can clip together dozens of ways. It was a closet hanging clothing sorter that i bought at a yardsale at one of our many military postings. I believe they bought in Germany but is was about 18+ years ago though , sorry I can’t help more. I have tried many times to find another with no luck.
