Hello My Name is Scarlet

I spent most of my life wanting a rabbit but waiting to have the proper means to raise one. My first bunny baby was the last bunny in a cage at a feedstore, a pure “chocolate rabbit” as my father called her. He bought her and brought me home and I was thrown into rabbit owning unprepared money and space wise, but knew well enough how to tend to rabbits and what not to do. I had no idea how poorly handled my new bunny was, but I set to work pampering her and giving her as much love as she could handle with her sassy personality

She was brownish grey and changed to a varied brown colour with age, My first forum topic I made here was about her passing, which was sudden and heartbreakingly painful. She likely died before making it past four years of age, which tore me apart inside.
My house felt empty without her and my grieving hasn’t lessened since. She taught me that I didn’t just love rabbits, I needed them in my life, without a rabbit I felt off going through my day to day hobbies. 

My current rabbit has been with me since Jan. 28th, he’s a very lovely and charming spotted rex(possible mix) who has such a laid backquality I can’t believe he’s never been handled. Nimo gives licks, kisses, and flops around, and has been a sweetie from day one.

While my experience hands on with rabbits is limited to going on five years now, I have read a ton of this forum’s posts and rabbit sites prior to joining and I hope to learn and contribute as much as I can to this lovely community.

Hi there It’s great to have you as part of this forum. It’s very difficult not to love rabbits once you’ve had one and seen how much personality they have. It sounds like Nimo is a wonderful rabbit with a wonderful home

He spends half the day rolling around and in general just eating, playing, and flopping. I’ve never had a rabbit flop or be as chill as he is -my first bunny as much as I adored her, was a biter and persnickety with where you touched her-, I’m going to end up a rabbit owner for life and may rescue some more down the road.

I did that siggy so many years ago, I seriously don’t remember…. We have lots of tech savy people here that I’m sure will be able to help you out. I’m the same way, I don’t know much about stuff like that. Surprised I was able to do that. That was my original trio. I currently only have the little white guy.

Not sure what breed my Sterling is but my best guess is Flemmie/Californian. Here is a pic of him with my cat Kyle so you can see how big he is.
