        Hello!

My name is Callie, and I share my apartment with my husband and our two rabbits Voldemort and Bellatrix. We had one rabbit before them who passed away last year, and we knew from that point on we would always have bunnies! We got two rabbits this time because we wanted to try and bond them, which is turning out to be harder than we expected. I am sure I will be asking for a lot of advise due to the unfortunate circumstance we are in, which I will get into a little more. But first let me introduce them!

Bellatrix is my sweet little lady who is 6 months old, and has the black trim around her face. I am not sure what type of rabbit she is but we were told she is a dwarf. She currently weights 3 lbs and she is our special little girl  because she has Tilt, which we have been fighting for about 2 months now. She has done so good for us and the vet with all of the trips and medication. However it seems she just cant kick it. With her having such bad issues with tilt the vet has decided not to have her spayed at this time, because she stresses out so easily. Her favorite food is romaine lettuce and slices of strawberry.  She also loves to binky and run around the house!

Voldemort is our little muscle man who is also 6 months old, and has the big lop ears. He is a miniature lop and he is extra fuzzy! He currently weights 2.6 lbs and its all fuzz and muscle. He loves pushing his face up against the divider and letting Bellatrix lick his face, he also LOVES digging in his litter box and throwing it everywhere when he wants to be loved on (NAUGHTY!). He mostly watches her and sleeps in the passed out on his side like he is dead position which has scared me more than once! He is fixed and his favorite food above all is little pieces of carrot!

Hopefully the pictures load and I am super excited to be apart of the site!

          Hello and Welcome!!!!!!

From your avatar, the rabbit in the background i’m guessing Bellatrix is soo cute!!!

Here’s an article about head tilt you may want to read: http://www.rabbit.org/journal/3-8/head-tilt.html

Bonding may be difficult, as you cannot currently Spay Bellatrix. There are also many health issues that can come with not spaying, but you can talk with your vet about that.

That is my little Bellatrix! I think my photos were to big that I tried attaching so Ill have to try and re-size them! lol  Thanks for the article I will read it when I get home from work! Also I know its going to be hard to bond them, she is quite dominate even with her being sick. We are just trying to get her tilt under control before we go ahead and spay her, which concerns me because of the risk of not spaying…. its all been very confusing and hard trying to make decisions about her health and what is best.

Wellcome! Bellatrix looks very cute! I hope she’ll recover from her tilt. Bonding will be tough until you can get her spayed, as Mocha wrote, but of course you must wait til she’s better before having such a big procedure done. Here are many accomplished bonders on BB (I myself NOT one of them though ) who I’m sure will be glad to help you out =)

Hope to see and hear more from you!

I finally figured out the photo thing!  Here are my two little ones, Voldemort and Bellatrix enjoying some bonding time. They play really well together for about 30 min. then she usually gets sassy!

Thank you for all the warm welcomes! I am so excited to be apart of this community, and to learn, grow, and spread the love of rabbits! I know Bellatrix is going to have a long road ahead for recovery but we think she can defeat anything!
