Hello everyone!! My name is Bri,I’m in Va. About two months ago I got my first bunny,Aurora, through a friend that could no longer keep her, they rescued her from being a meat bunny After a bit of looking we think she is a Himalayan. She has the same markings, has red eyes and is about 4-5 pounds. It was a spur of the moment thing,I’ve never had a bunny before until I got her,but my goodness am I glad I did! She’s the absolute SWEETEST thing in the world, never bitten or had any moments where she seemed she would, loves to be pet right on her head and in between her ears, and is spoiled beyond belief. I did all kinds of research while I had her to make sure she had the very best regardless of price!

I already have a zoo..An almost 10 month old Pit/Beagle mix,a Bearded Dragon, 2 Leopard Geckos, 3 Crested Geckos, and 2 mice. All share my love!
Right now I have her in a pen without a cage, with a litter box(luckily she’s litter box trained) and a bunch of toys, and obviously food and water bowls. She gets Oxbox pellets(not much) and a fresh salad every night with a little assortment of treats, and of course bunches of hay!
If anyone could direct me on the best place to post questions about what to give her to enrich her life while in her pen, that’d be great! I’m about to get her a big tub for a hide since she’s a little bigger than most fleece hides, and possibly some other cute toys. If anyone has any kind of suggestions,PLEASE toss them this way!!

Thanks so much! I hope to become an constant member of this forum!

I don’t think I can post any pics through my Iphone

Hello! Welcome to BB! Your bunny sounds adorable, I can’t wait to see pictures. I have heard a lot of stories about meat rabbits turning out to be the sweetest ever.

I think you’ll get more exposure for your questions in the Q&A or Habitats and Toys section. I’m sure there are plenty of members who would be willing to answer your questions and share their experiences with you.

Hello there and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have such a great setup for Aurora and have her diet sorted out nicely too. I have also heard that meat rabbits are often very sweet. Given her size and markings it sounds like she quite likely is a himi, they tend to have quite a cylindrical body shape to them as well. I’m assuming she’s full grown? Otherwise, if young, she’s possibly a Californian and they get big 10-12 pounds.

It sounds like you live with a wonderful assortment of pets
