Hello, I’m Sara, and my two rabbits are Kush, a Dwarf, Lion-head mix, who is 9 weeks old. He is absolutely the fuzziest thing I have ever seen. I have also been told that when they are young it is best to get them a companion or else they won’t live as long? If that’s the case I won’t mind getting another lion-head mix, there just too cute! Kush, because of his long fur, is strictly indoors.

Mitsue is…well he’s a bunny. Dark grey with white paws and underbelly,  he’s a good 4 or 5 pounds. He was also dumped on our doorstep, literally, we have no idea how old he is or what he is. I have a lot of pictures of him posted, if anyone can figure it out. Mitsue was our first rabbit we have had him for about a year, to be honest he prefers to be a hutch bunny during the summer and an indoor bunny for the winter.

And I, am new to this site, so hello!

          Mitsue

Welcome! I reposted some body shots of Mitsue so it’s easier for members to take a look and attempt to guess what he is.  Well he’s beautiful for starters!  Love grey bunnies   Usually these rabbits are mix breed so it’d be hard to ever really know for sure.  I’m thinking his colouring though might be classed as Blue Otter?…….Edit: Acutally, he doesn’t have all nose and eye markings of otter so now I’m undecided!

Kush is a super cute name! I can’t say I’ve even heard of a lionhead/mini rex combo before. Will be interesting to see if he shed out the baby fur and gets more rex like fur.  Personally I would not say a bunny companion would = a longer life. I do think companionship (from you or another bunny is important.)  It depends on whether you want 2 young bunnies at the same time which means litter training and them going thru the teen stage at same time.  Often the bond can break then – so you may have to rebond though this is not always the case. Alternatively, you could wait until he’s grown some, get him neutered and then get another fixed rabbit for him to bond to – or attempt to bond him to Mitsue!

Oh very cool, thanks! I’m mostly curious as to what he is just as a…curiosity thing.

He is beautiful, but who ever owned him last didn’t ever handle him. It took us forever just to be able to hold him. But now hes a happy bunny ^^

Hehe, i got the name Kush from a character in a book I am currently writing. Kush in my book is a fuzzy mouse/rabbit thing, and my rabbit Kush is an extremely fuzzy fluff ball XD

Well thats good, I do spend time with him everyday, he actually helps me write my book by sitting on my chest and listening to me read it

I can live without getting another bunny until he gets a bit older, he is already 80% litter trained. Hes a smart bunny  The only problem with bonding him to Mitsue is that, well Kush is only going to be mabey 2, 3 pounds tops. And I just double checked with my mom, hes actully a dwarf, lion-head mix  My bad… Anyway, Mitsue is also tempermentle, we don’t know what his old owners did, or didnt do, to him but he is very cranky sometimes…However Im hoping that might change when we get his nuttys cut off.

But thank you very much for the advice/help and the warm welcome!!

              Welcome!

I wouldn’t be too worried about the weight difference, size doesn’t matter to bunnies I have a 1.5 pound netherland dwarf I’m bonding to a 4 pound dutch… and they’re doing fine. I’ve seen dutches bonded to flemmish giants, at a local rabbit rescue meeting they were doing bonding, and a flemmie was interested in a dwarf! I suggest trying it, do a couple dates with your buns and see how they like each other. After they are both altered of course! My nethie can be quite temperamental too.. or maybe just mental lol.

No! I thought he was a hedgehog! LOL! He’d have enough pokes for all of us… you could retire your sticks!
