Hi!
I joined a few months ago and got lots of wonderful advise when our poor bun was poorly, so thought I’d pull my head out from the sand and actually get around to introducing us both!
I’m Sophie, and I live in the Shetland Islands with my partner, and our bunny Monty. Monty turned two last month, and is (we believe…) a lop x lionhead. We adopted him in April from someone who ‘no longer had time’ for him, and he is now our rather fantastic little house boy.
We think he spent most of his life before joining us in his cage… and now, as I’m currently studying from home, he spends every moment of the day the free-est of rabbits! He goes into his house and night, and if we’re heading out, but otherwise, he goes where he pleases. Which limits him to his bedroom (yes, yes, really. His house is in our spare room, so it has become MONTY’s room!) and our bedroom – he’s not interested in what’s down that corridor! He is currently stretched out by the bedroom door, head tilting as he pretends not to be falling asleep… but I’ve never seen an awake rabbit at that kind of angle! He has been a complete delight since he arrived, and we’re both so, so pleased that we adopted him. I’d had rabbits as a child… the way children have rabbits. Outside, in hutches, chatted to for a while – and now I feel so guilty! Monty has taught me so much about bunnies in such a short space of time – and every bit of what he’s taught me is good. But yes, he has been a complete star since he arrived, belly troubles included (he goes through what we are starting to assume are gassy stages, that can leave him feeling very uncomfortable and make us very sad, but so far he’s been a star with his vet trips and injections and all the like).
His favourite things are chasing cloths, clambering into the wardrobe when nobody’s looking, dodging claw clips, cardboard and kiwi (which is a problem right now as we’ve not had any up here for a fortnight).
A photo should be attached, and hello to everyone/bun already here, we look forward to getting to know you all!
