        Greetings!

I am Sue or Susan interchangeably. I am the mother of the most handsome rabbit on the planet! (Hopefully pictured here?) I have had rabbits as pets in the past. My first was a wild baby rabbit I brought home as a very young girl, his family apparently fell victim to a lawnmower  (will not describe how I drew that conclusion here) and I spotted him up against the foundation of the house in shock, I picked him up and kept him warm for the long walk back to my house, my mother nursed him through his trauma, we named him Precious and made him part of our family. He had the run of the house most of the time. Another house rabbit I had was in Germany. His “cage” was a huge bathroom, it was all tile, he couldn’t eat it! When we were home he had the run of the house. I had several others through the years with the happiness and tragedies that go along with loving fur babies.

Freckles is newly adopted, September 18th from a wonderful rescue program. He is the first rabbit I have had for approximately 30 years.

We chose to adopt a rabbit so a homeless bunny could have a new home. And we did not wish to have a dog, (walks several times a day even in bad weather, muddy feet, can only leave home for 5 to 6 hours unless you get a walker/sitter, etc…. We also did not want a cat, too awake during the wee hours for a motor home, too destructive, etc…… Bunnies are clean, small, quiet, (never had one bark at the neighbors!) and furry and squishy!

He will have a unique lifestyle traveling with his mom and dad around the country in their motor home. Right now he is in Indiana but will spend this weekend visiting an uncle in Illinois. On Monday we will head for the Ark Encounter in Kentucky and then on to sunny Florida for the winter! He has a brother that has been traveling for the past almost 13 years by the name of Topper. Topper is a blue crowned conure of the ripe young age of 24! (hopefully also pictured here.)

Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! Your bunny is most handsome, along with being a cutie! Thanks for adopting him from a shelter. I will say that Topper is a handsome boy too. I hope that you will all enjoy your travels together!

Hi! His name is quite appropriate by the looks of him. (And Topper looks quite intrigued by his new furry friend)

Thank you all for the kind welcome!

So many beautiful bunnies and their parents here! I found this forum yesterday whilst researching how to keep my Freckles cool, our 3 month old air conditioner died.  I immediately joined and have been having fun getting to know you all. I have no doubt this was a great find!

Hi Sue – it is the best find you will find this year !!! Welcome.
I had to look hard for Topper !! It was like a Where’s Wally pic. How funny those two! Lucky Freckles. How old is he?

I love how you say cats are destructive and rabbits (obviously) not – good luck with that then !!

Hehe, gonna have to agree with Vienna on that one xD Although I’ve been very lucky with the rabbits I’ve had so far…soo far……

Cats are quite easy to train. If they do something you don’t like make a really loud, sudden sound. They’ll stop. But as far as what they do while we’re away…well…that isn’t so easy to control =P

The cat thing is more the middle of the night stuff, (though I have had many cats and many bunnies in my life and the cats have caused more damage) we live in a motor home and it is hard to explain but our bed rolls down from the ceiling in the living room, a.k.a. no place to get away from a nocturnal pet.

Topper still isn’t too sure about his new brother, it doesn’t help that Freckles gets a kick out of freaking him out, he has discovered if he runs straight for Topper he makes him fly!
