Hello! At the suggestion of my fiancée Emmie, who is already a member here, I’ve decided to join the fun here at BinkyBunny!
I’ve had many critters before, mostly parrots and parakeets (which I very unfortunately had to leave with trusted friends when I moved back to my current residence). When I was younger, my family kept a few rabbits, but it’s been a while!
As of yesterday, I rejoined the ranks of bunny parenthood, and I’m very proud to say I have! Penny (as Emmie and I have taken to calling her) is a precious 10 or 11-week old creamy-brown lionhead. She’s still very shy, not quite willing to come out of her new cage just yet. She spent the majority of last night exploring her new cage, to the detriment of my sleep! But I don’t mind! She seems to have an adventurous personality, while maintaining a calm, reserved kind of caution. She’s an absolute sweetheart, willing to take small bits of cucumber and hay from my hand, then retreating a small way to nibble. I’ve just been sitting beside her cage, letting her get used to me being around!
I got her from a breeder who had several different breeds that he worked with. She stayed in a hutch with two of her siblings, in a shed full of 5 or 6 hutches. I’m sure her contact with people was very limited, probably only to the breeder himself. So I’m willing to be patient to gain her trust!
She’s not spayed, so that will have to be done sometime down the road!
I’ll include a couple pictures of her! Sorry they’re sideways, I’m not quite sure how to fix that!
