Our Pippa is about a year and a half now. We got her at a local pet store (though I really prefer adoption, I just had to have her. She’s my baby). My third bunny, my boyfriends first and he was so excited. I love this bun very dearly, but she’s a bit aggressive and territorial. Not too fond of new people and doesn’t really like her ‘daddy’ cause he always picks her up, poor bun. Here’s my little floppy bun

She is very cute! My first bunny was a pet store bunny and he was a great bun! He died about a year later though. =( I was not educated on rabbits then…that was many years ago. He had a toxin in his kidneys so I don’t know how that happened. =( It was very sad. I loved that bunny. He was a black rex.

About the aggressive and territorialness, is Pippa spayed? That helps tons when it comes to behavior problems?

Welcome! I second what Cinnabun said about spaying. Alteration makes a big difference in their behavior.

As for Bf being new, tell him we’ll forgive him if he’s willing to learn The way I tell people so they understand it is- if you look at your hand in the position you pick up a bun, it looks a like a raptors claws and so whenever you pick them up, they are afraid for their life. They prefer all four on the floor. I know it’s impossible to do all the time but the less you do it, the more the bun will trust you- In my opinion.

She is most definatley spayed. She was a complete terror before, so we had that done as soon as we could and it helped overall but shes definatley much more moody than other buns i’ve had. All personalitites are different. The vet I first called asking about it actually recommended NOT getting her fixed since she would be an only bun and said the surgery could be difficult. I ran…

I keep telling him that she gets petrified. I feel so bad for her, because literally every time he even comes into the room she runs into a corner and freezes I’m still trying to work with him and we’ve had her about a year now. He always jokes about why she loves me more, and I say, well, that’s why. I don’t pick her up unless I really have to lol

I also have a moody little Diva bun who hates to be picked up. To keep her happy (and from pummeling me) we only pick her up when absolutely necessary.
