I’m very happy to be here and introduce my new baby girl, Honey Bunny!
Her picture is in my profile photo album. It’s from the breeder’s ad. I haven’t taken any of her myself yet. I couldn’t figure out how to make it my icon here.
I left the option open to my son to name her and he didn’t and that is what I have been calling her. She is a 12-week-old Netherland Dwarf I was given for free by a local breeder because she says she has “splayed legs.” So far, she gets along just fine. I have only seen her drag one leg briefly. She can hop clear out of her litter box and is very, VERY Sweet!
I have only had experience with one other set of rabbits, back when I thought “Oh how fun! Breeding rabbits!” NOT!! It may be for some but not for me. They don’t stop!! haha The phrase “breeding like rabbits” comes to mind. Anywho, my first pair was a Holland Lop duo, Scarlet and Rhett. They were purchased as older bunnies and not handled much by their breeder. Myself being skittish and afraid that they are going to bite and it was not a good match.
Honey Bunny was very tame already when I got her and So SO SWEET. She knows her name and actually comes looking for me when I’m in her room. She is sectioned off in one area of my office when I’m not able to watch her and has about 4 to 6 hours out of cage time a day when I’m in here goofing around..oh and working. HAHA
Looking forward to talking with you all!!
