Hello, all.  A friend of mine introduced me to this site/forum, and I’m very glad to be here– the information has really been helpful so far!  I only just got my rabbit today, from someone who wanted to get rid of her.  She’s settled in like a champ– though it was funny ( and at the same time a little sad ) to see her in the back yard, as if she’d never seen grass or walked on it before!

Name is Belle ( her bunnyness ) and mine is Angel.  We’ve gotten her a new cage ( it’s a bit small until we build something larger here soon and use this one as a backup, but the one she was in was atrocious&#160 and some treats and toys ( although I think the handmade toys would be much more interesting for her, after seeing it!&#160, but I would love to hear any tips and advice from y’all who have been at this longer than I have.  I want to make this a fantastic forever home for her.  The previous owner said they thought she was roughly four months old, an easter baby.

Also, if anyone could help me figure out her breed?  Or if she’s just a mix?

http://i51.tinypic.com/1znwwv8.jpg and http://i56.tinypic.com/2cd7vp1.jpg – She’s a little white ball of fluff with pink eyes and silver points, except her nose is white.

She’s beautiful. Thank you for rescuing her from an attrocious living situation and giving her a much better one. Not sure about her breed, maybe someone else can help. Welcome!

Wow, what a gorgeous lovely bun! Oh well, now that bunny is your treasure

            Welcome

She is nearing the age where she will need to be spayed (6 months), so locating a rabbit savvy vet would be a good idea. http://www.rabbit.org has very good suggestions on finding a good vet, and what questions to ask for, etc It is a life saving site, as well as BinkyBunny!

What a beautiful girl she is. I’m so glad she’s somewhere she can be spoiled and pampered now. Gabby was given to me by a family who had tired of her as well. I love her so much and she is a great addition to our family.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I’m looking into a vet that can spay her when the time is right. Update on how she’s settling in — a few days and she’s already ruling the roost, so to speak! She even has my grandfather besotted. She doesn’t mind the other animals in the house, either, though we never let her alone with the dogs. She loves spending time out in the backyard or exploring the different rooms in the house, and making a mess out of her cage until it suits her ‘just so’ once we’re done cleaning it every morning and evening. I can’t wait until we have the larger one built for her. She’s a nibbler, too! Not a biter, but a clothes nibbler and a neck nuzzler when you’re holding her, haha.

The cutest thing I think she does is, when she’s wandering around, she’ll come back to you, sit down beside you briefly, and nudge your arm a few times until you pet her, almost as if to say, ‘Why ever did you stop in the first place?’

I’m glad to have found this community, all of your own bunnies are handsome and gorgeous as well. ^^

I can’t help but have the song ‘Getting to Know You’ from the King and I playing in my head throughout these first few days with her. >.>

Welcome Angel and Belle : )

She sounds like she’s settling in well and has found a wonderful home.

So her ears, feet and tail are this silvery colour? I agree with Sarita, she could be a himilayan mix or that colouring at least.
