My name is Genevieve, I am 21 and from New Zealand
I have two delightful male (complete) netherland dwarf x mini lop bunnys called binky and cinnabun.
they are brothers and are about 6mnths old, so far so good! Toilet training is ok… they dont make much mess on the floor (poops) in fact I can barely notice it! they 95% pee in the same spots (there are 4 litter boxes in my room!)
they dont have a cage as such, just those nic grids, which are completely open on one side so they can free run!
The only problem I face with them is that they just love my couch..it is pee central! so I am trying to stop that..any ideas?
So far they are not as close to me as my previous rabbits, I think this due to them being brothers, they are alot more affectionate with each other. I have only ever had single rabbits.
I plan on getting them neuterd when I find a reputable vet.
cinnabun is very shy and does not really like pats, she more liks just sitting and nuzzling in my hair when I am lying on the floor on my laptop…binky is more cuddly (when he wants to be!)
My main battle is raising a 7mnth old VERY hyper border collie x puppy who was rescued and is PETRIFIED of people at the same time as bring up two rabbits who are also rescues! I cant have them in the same room unless maggie (the puppy) is in a very relaxed state… so I often feel torn.. oh and I am studying full time at university as well!
I spend about 3 hours interacting with my rabbits, and I sleep in the same room as them, they are there when I get up watch me have a shower (binky tried to hop in once!) I often wonder if this is enough, at the moment my puppy gets most of the attention, but I figure she can cause ALOT of harm to people with her fear so I need to deal with this now… does this sound ok? or am I beign a bit neglectful of my bunbuns?
wowza, sorry for the long post!
