Bunny #1: Oliver is a 6 month old Netherland Dwarf (he’s the black otter one in the pic). He is a mommy’s boy and doesn’t really like anyone else except mommy and his bunny friend. He is a sweetheart and super easy to train. His only downfall is that he is a nipper/biter so we are working on that. He loves to play with any sort of ball and chew toys. He is neutered and I’ve had him since he was 12 weeks. Oliver is named after the Botswana Special of Top Gear (Hammonds beloved car Oliver).
Bunny#2: Elise is a 3 month old Netherland Dwarf (blue otter). She is much more timid and unsure of people than her friend. She is a daddy’s girl but loves cuddles from mommy too. She is not a biter by any means and loves to snuggle. She likes to dig dig dig! She is scheduled for a spay surgery and I’ve had her since 10 weeks. Continuing with the car theme, Elise is named after the Lotus Elise.

My name is Cara and these are my first buns. My parents raised rabbits growing up but we always had dogs. Now that my boyfriend and I bought our first house and have our life sorted we brought our fur babies into our lives. We did extensive research online and in books as well as rabbit vets before making our choices and selecting enclosures, feed, ETC. We love our bunnies!!!!

I’m going to try to attach a photo but we will see if it works! Nice to meet everyone!!

In your other post, I know you mentioned they’re separate right now due to Elise being sick. Make sure they stay separate until she is spayed! If you haven’t already, add some bonding research to your extensive studies, haha. There’s a lot.

Welcome! I’m glad you created an introduction post. Netherland dwarves can be such a delight despite their reputation as divas. Honestly, Wick is, but he’s lovely like your rabbits!

As you learn and research more, I recommend sticking to literature and sites that are within the past 5 years. A lot of standard rabbit practices have been changed for the better as well as a lot of misunderstandings cleared up. It’s never good when a great owner researches and gains a lot of knowledge but realizes their sources were out dated. Cross reference and as always, you are welcome to post questions!

The sites search function is down, but you can search the site through Google by typing site:binkybunny.com then your search terms.

Hi! I’ve not yet seen a blue otter Nethie until now, very cute (the both of them)!
