Hi guys! Its Animanga_addict here introducing herself. I do not own my rabbits yet but I will be adopting today or Thursday. I’m super excited and have been hovering around the forum for quite a while and researching in many different places. My cage is a nic cage that’s 2 grids wide by s grids high by 5 grids long. I even built a little loft. The rabbits that I am hoping to adopt are all black one a Holland lop and the other I believe is a Netherland dwarf. I have fell in love with them and call the shelter everyday to make sure they are still available. They’ve been there for over 300 days!
I have always wanted to get rabbits since I was a little baby. I would always beg and beg every easter and my parents constantly said no. I had to go through 6 months of planning and researching to be able to adopt. And one long presentation and working at my mums office I’m finally allowed to adopt! I can’t wait to meet new people on this forum (and if you have an interest in manga or anime you know where to find me ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ ) So thank you all for the wonderful information and I look forward to adopting really soon!
Hi and Welcome to Binky Bunny!
It’s so great that you’ve done so much research before getting your bunnies.
Are they a bonded pair?
Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! It’s very smart for people to research bunnies, since so many do not understand all that goes into rabbit care and that they are a long term commitment.
I assume that the bunnies are both spayed or neutered. That’s always the first step in bonding. If they aren’t already bonded, you will have to keep them separated until that has been accomplished. If you haven’t already clicked on the BUNNY INFO link at the top of the page here, please do so. There is a lot of good information on all the basics of rabbit care.
Yes they are a bonded pair of a spayed female and a neutered male! I’m going to be adopting them tomorrow so I will keep you posted. If you have any tips feel free to tell me. I know I have to leave them alone for a day or two then I can start the bonding process.
Hi and welcome and I’m very excited for you – a long presetnation for the bunny LOL – well done Mum !!
It proves you’re in it for the long run! Can’t wait to see the photos. If they’re already bonded then it should be OK. ![]()
Hello there and welcome to the forum
Can’t wait to see pics of your new bunnies, they’re two very lucky bunnies to have you adopting them.
Omg thank you for such kind words! I’m in the car now on my way to the shelter! 301 days is a long time to be in a cramped area so I can’t wait! I’ll keep you guys posted. I’ll be there in about 15 minutes!
Hoppy Homecoming!!!!! ![]()
OMG I’m soooooo excited for you Animanga – a bonded pair, one of each!!
WHO would have thought we’d have 2 members adopting such a pair in the same week !!!!!
After ALL this waiting you must be quite excited indeed !!
If Azerane’s one week experience is anything to go by (a so-called bonded couple having little fights since getting the their new (big!) home), don’t give them the whole house to roam in straight away, maybe give them a little bit bigger than their nic cage and increase that space each day bit by bit.
Welcome to BB!
It’s so nice to hear someone being so prepared and dedicated before adopting bunnies.
So exciting! Can’t wait to meet your new fuzzy family members and see pictures!
Thanks for the the tips. I won’t introduce them to a big area all at once then! When I adopted Yukki and Onyx from the shelter the staff new almost everything about them. The woman assisting us even threw in two of their favorite toys to bring along the ride with us. The rabbits are settling in anow and are in tip top shape. The staff was so excited that they made an announcement and had a little going way party in the front. The workers and vounteers were extremelyhelpful and complimented us on how knowledgeable we were. It was such a great day! (*^▽^*) I don’t understand why anyone didn’t want these sweet balls of fluff. Maybe it was because of their size (they both are bigger than my collie puppy) Yukki is very sweet. When I was at the shelter I had floor time with him and he hopped up to my lap. Then we played pass the plastic keys around the room.
PHOTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!! (please
)
Sorry I didn’t get any pictures of Onyx but they will be coming soon! I’m so glad I adopted the balls of super soft fur! And I’m glad I didn’t listen to my sister (who said that the other rabbits were ‘cuter’ and younger ![]()
:blink
. I disagreed I fell in love with Yuki’s sweet personality and Onyx’s ears. I’m super excited to be apart of the Binky Bunny community (*^▽^*)
Hmm. For some reason my pictures are not posting. I’m sorry and will try to figure out what’s going on.

Don’t worry, a clever Forum Leader will come to your rescue !! ![]()
Yay!!! The photos are fixed. And update Onyx’s name has been changed to Yumiko! Or Yumi for short. But thank you all again for the wonderful information. Guess who’s finally litter trained!!
Animnga – the adoption poster you posted has 2 lop ear buns on the photo – yet your bun doesn’t seem to…. or have I missed a chapter ? lol
Oh no! The two pictures were just Yumiko at different angles. Yumi is a French lop and Yukki (the one with the upright ears) I’m not sure about his breed. Sorry for the confusion!
