Hi everyone!
I’m new to the forum. I live with my partner and I am a mum to two lovely male bunnies, Billy and Noah (both neutered). I grow up having bunnies and always loved them. My first one was a real lady and lived 12 years, my second one was a male but had poor health and did not leave very long. He was the sweetest bunny however. This is the first time my partner has bunnies and I’m so happy that he has the chance to experience how amazing rabbits are!
Billy is my 3 year old male Dutch rabbit, we bought him in a pet shop when he was just a few months old on Easter Monday (we did not really plan to buy a bunny, we just strolled in the shop and it was love at first sight
). Billy’s really bossy – he likes to play tough and ordering us around but in fact all he wants is cuddles. He just likes lying with us, especially next to the heater in winter. He also wants to go everywhere we go – he hates it if we do not allow him in the bathroom with us, will scratch at the door and simply pull or push it if it’s not completely closed Billy had a jaw abscess last September. It was a tough time and I was really worried about losing him. We took him to an exotic vet and the operation went well. He lost a tooth and a bit of jaw bone in the process, the aftercare was quite tough (my partner was abroad at the time and I was on my own to look after Billy) but he’s now perfectly fine and healthy. I was so grateful throughout these hard times to have Noah with us!Noah is a 1 year old male and I think he’s a mixed breed. He’s the newest addition to our family and has been with us for 9 months. I never had a pair of bunnies before but I’m so glad I did it. He came to us through the RSPCA (he was abdandoned with two other bunnies when he was a few months old). He’s a shy little guy, he doesn’t like being petted (he only wants to be licked by Billy, so many times I have seen him putting his head next to Billy and wait for a cuddle!). However he likes playing a lot, he binkies on the carpet and sometimes runs in circles like crazy. He also has real manners – when he drinks from his bowl he never makes a sound and he always holds himself neat and proper. He’s a real gent! Billy in comparison just slurps the water and splashes everywhere =).
Noah is also mischievous, he steals Billy’s food in case it tastes better than its own. Billy just sits there wondering what happened to his piece of lettuce and when he spots Noah at the other side of the room eating it, there’s a bit of bossiness ensured! They’re both my babies and I’m really proud of them.
