Hello! My 1 year old french lop started showing pain at the area of his heels 2 days ago. He can’t sit calm and he licks and bite his hind paws more frequently. Everything else seems to be okay, he’s been eating and pooping normally, he is still very playful and doesn’t seem to be in pain while walking and jumping, but i can see it when he tries to just sit and just do nothing. There isn’t any hair loss on his paws, neither any injury, but i couldn’t check it closer as he won’t let me touch his feets (he usually doesn’t mind it but now it looks like even a minor touch hurts him). He is an indoor bunny and this never happened before. Does anyone know what it could be?

Sometimes it’s hard to see calluses on their hocks because a “flap” of fur will cover it. Sometimes you have to dig a little bit to find it. I would definitely try to get a closer look to make sure there aren’t sores developing.

He let me see it closer when he was cleaning today. However, I still haven’t found any abnormalities even under fur. I will take him to a vet on Monday, hopefully he is going to get better soon!
