I’ve had my bunny for a couple of months now. My boyfriend and I took over caring for him when his friend could no longer look after him. He is about 10 months old, very active and playful, and has never shown any signs of poor health. However, when I was rubbing his ears earlier (he loves having his ears rubbed) I felt a large, abnormally shaped, hard lump on the tip of one ear. I have no idea how I never noticed this before, unless it has only recently gotten larger. I am asking on here before taking him to the vet in case I am over worrying Not sure if this is normal in bunnies. Any help is greatly appreciated!

          Welcome !

The spot is the area of the ear rabbits are able to lick and groom, so perhaps a case of him overgrooming the area?
          OR
          Possible ringworm?

Could be possible from grooming… his nails are quite long and need to be clipped. As for ringworm I am not sure. My biggest concern is transfer to my other animals (cat and dog) but I believe they are vaccinated against this.

Ringworm is caused by a fungus as far as I know – I’d take the bunny to a vet.

Hmm, no scab of anything that would indicate a bite from another animal?

He doesn’t have contact with any other animals!! I’ve been putting Dr Maggie’s antiseptic on it. I also find it odd that he has no problem with me touching or even pressing on it a little bit. Seems to be painless.
