Unfortunately Gizmo is still sick from an Upper Respiratory Infection. If he has not improved by friday He is going back to the vet. He has been through so much already. his eye has gotten much better. but has had some nasty sneezing fits. I am sharing a video of one of his sneezing fits. any extra ideas would help. he is already on antibiotics, but may need something stronger.

are you seeing white boogers in his nose?
our vet usually gives us gentamicin sulfate ophthalmic drops in conjunction with oral antibiodics.
they’re technically eyedrops, but we put one drop on each nostril twice a day if they get boogery.

Poor Gizmo – healing vibes. Could be that this could take awhile. If he wasn’t care for properly in the past, better care, less stress and antibiotics should help. I think the nose drops are also a good idea and they shouldn’t be too difficult to administer either.

I will ask Dr. Helm about that!!! He doesn’t have any mucus on his nose, but I did notice some on the carpet of his cage this morning. He has just been through so much, I refuse to let him get worse now!! My vet wont be back from Louisiana till Friday, so she told me to keep an eye on his intake, output and temperature. and if there is an emergency The other vet can see him. Although he normally just deals with cats and dogs. she is the only rabbit vet in my area, the nearest other vet I found is 2 and 1/2 hours away.

Poor Gizmo, he’s really honking there.
When a rabbit is lifting it’s nose to breathe/sneeze like that it can also sometimes indicate heart trouble. Has your vet checked his heart just to be sure it’s okay?
Sweet bub must be totally packed in there. Do you have a nice steamy bathroom you can take him in to help loosen whatever muck is plugging him up? Also medicine can be ‘nebulized’ to help clear the nasal passages/respiratory tract. You might ask your vet about that as well when you speak again. Here’s a link that gives a basic description of the process. http://ontariorabbits.org/health/nebulizing
There are YouTube videos too that show how it’s done, just Google ‘nebulizer for rabbit.’
I hope he starts to feel better soon. Was his infection cultured? I don’t recall if you said so or not in his other thread. This can help target the bacteria with a more precise treatment.
                          (((((((((((((((((((Megavibes)))))))))))))))))))))) for wee Gizmo.
