I wasn’t sure where to post this so please move if it’s the wrong spot.
I’ve recently lost two bunnies and just have one girl left now.
I wanted to ask those who have loved and lost bunnies if adopting another bunny helped them to heal?
I love my Peach but she isn’t the neediest of bunnies she is pretty independent. I’m really missing having a bunny who likes pats and head scratches.

So sorry for your loss, I know first hand how hard it is to deal with the loss of a bunny. I have a thread on here about how I lost my bunny to cancer and dealing with that was very hard. The response on the thread helped me loads to accept it, I’m grateful for that.

Unfortunately I can’t give any info on whether this works or not as I am now bunny-less and trying to heal as well. I do hope others chime in on this as I too was wondering about whether adopting another (or more pets in general) is the best method for healing.

Luckily you still have Peach who still relies on your routines and care. The issue with when I lost my only bunny was dealing with him not being around and missing my routines and play sessions with him.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is traumatizing, to say the least.

I would not suggest getting another rabbit so soon, although I understand about Peach. (My rabbit is pretty independent too.) Don’t rush into anything so soon. Grieving is a natural process and must be allowed to take place. Wait a little bit. Also, consider Peach’s feelings on the matter. Perhaps another bunny companion so soon would be a little upsetting for her. (And you.)

            Again, condolences.
