My rabbit Macy got diagnosed with head tilt yesterday after being on ear drops for 3 weeks with no improvement. The vet informed me that if she gets any worse to bring her back in on Thursday and we would discuss quality of life. Her boyfriend Merlin got checked out and he was fine. Has anyone been through this before that can give me any advice? Did your bunny recover? When did you know it was the end? I’m having such a hard time knowing what to do for her.

So sorry to hear about your bunny’s situation. I did deal with a slight tilt a few years back that was thankfully reversed due to quick treatment with Fenbendazole for suspected EC.

Did the vet do an ear culture to determine what type of bacteria she is dealing with?

I strongly suggest you request to join the Facebook group “Help for Head Tilt Hoppers”. Lots of people there with experience that may be able to help you.

Thank you so much for the Facebook group suggestion.

Yes, they did culture the ear to determine the bacteria. I’m not sure what they gave her by name but she’s on 2 medications and critical care.
