“Bunny” being a temporary name. I hope someone caught the HIMYM reference I used for the title.
Anyways let me introduce to you to “Bunny”:
Leaning on my leg for some pets at the shelter
Allowing me to pet her
And AgainShe’s is around 6 months is the guess of the vet at the shelter and Donna at the rescue who checked her out on her way home. Did I mention the Bunny rescue we’ve been working with is only 5 minutes down the road
She was written down as a Himalayan/dwarf mix but we don’t think she has dwarf in her. She is 4.4 lbs right now and slightly underweight so she’ll probably be about 5 lbs. She was found outside by an elderly lady who kept her for a while. She let her run outside
and she was always “sweet” so the shelter named her Sweetie. As sweet as she is, that name won’t be staying. She is though for now. She was only spayed a week ago so we had to put her in smaller cage then planned. We’re waiting a month or maybe longer to introduce her to Bunjamin. And if it doesn’t work out for any reason Donna said she will help us find her a great home- not sure I won’t be attached by then 
.But she’s a super nice bun and I’m excited to get to know her. Donna said we saved two lives. I really hope we did. I still feel bad not taking in a bun from Donna’s rescue but she thanked me for taking her in from that awful shelter. We knew they killed rabbits there for being unwanted but I also found out they put them down if they bite anyone. Even staff. Grrr it makes me so mad that people dealing with animals could be so ignorant. Moving on… Here she is!

I’m so glad she’s out of the shelter and in a home for now. Regardless of how it pans out with Bunjamin, she’s in such a better situation now. Between you guys and Donna, her future is safer. Thanks for giving her that.
From looks of her in these pictures… You have to admit the word for her is Sweet! Looking forward to what you come up with for her name.

Mocha I had talked about it in October Chat a bit. I had written out longer stuff but everytime I write something long before I can copy it, the site crashes on me
So I gave up and kept my post short. Jersey, thank you for those reassuring words. I have one idea for a name but Andy’s not sure about it yet. It includes Bunjamin’s last name though
I can’t help but think about the 4 lops still at the shelter. I hope they all find good homes too. This little sweetie had another risk according to Donna with Halloween around the corner but I don’t want to traumatize you guys too with what I was told this morning. I’m just glad she is settling in real nice.

*poke poke* I know what you’re talking about Frankie, in regards to Halloween. I’m ALWAYS urging people to keep their, outside, animals inside on Halloween. It breaks my heart to see all the missing animals signs and kijiji posts the next day

I haven’t heard of anything bunny related. Then again I try to stay away from any of the morbid / messed up parts of Halloween that show up. -
Yay for people catching the HIMYM reference. Right now I’m letting bunny rest and get used to us. I’ll get more pics tomorrow I promise. I didn’t mean to create a stir about Halloween. I had just found out myself. I sent you a message Skipper’s mama but it says I must wait 3 minutes in between each message before sending another so if you want to know- be warned it might frighten you about how cruel this world is. You can still PM me.
But I really don’t want to scare everyone! Today’s a happy day when a cute bun got a better place to live. And has 2 new doting slaves

Can someone PM me what happens on Halloween?!!?! I’ve never heard of anything that this could possibly be either.
And she is ADORABLE! I’M KEEPING MY VIBES GOING FOR YOU GUYS! Can’t wait to see more pics of her!

And I want to say that I appreciate you guys PMing yourselves about the cruelty that people do to animals, and keeping those kinds of details off the boards. I do not need to know any specifics, but suffice it to say that there are terrible humans throughout time that hurt living things – mostly other humans – and any effort to raise the quality of life one creature at a time is our constant message to each other here. Nothing to do with the spirit(s) of Halloween. Just maybe more opportunity to bring disgusting strangers up to your door.
And I think I must be old. I don’t get the reference….

They had her put down as himalayan/dwarf mix. Don’t think dwarf part is right. I was thinking Californian is possible. A lot of it depends on how big she gets. Since her age is iffy she could get bigger. She’s 4.4 lbs right now. Actually probably more now that she’s getting a proper diet with us
This is a new rabbit vet for us. We moved and the old one is just a little far. This is the vet the rescue uses and loves. But we always have old vet to back up on. I still love her lol. Just in an emergency distance matters.

If she’s just nervous or passive. But I know she enjoys the pets.On another note, it’s killing me keeping her in that small cage. But I don’t want her to hurt her internal stitches. I feel like such a bad slave :/
