As some of you might have seen on Boo’s instagram, we got a new bunny. This is Harvey, we adopted him just last night. We’re going to start prebonding soon with Boo, but we’re just letting him settle in for a few days. Apparently a pet shop worker brought him to a rescue after a woman brought him back to the shop because her children had got bored of him. He wasn’t fed properly so now he has an especially sensitive digestive system. He is some sort of mix but he’s absolutely gorgeous. Also huge huge thanks to Tony’s Mum, as she basically arranged the whole thing, and was so helpful throughout. She also picked the name so credits go to her

Also I picked his name by accident but it suits him perfectly ?

Thank you everyone so much! Q8, yes you can tell he has some lionhead in him from the cheek floof! (Though he’s nowhere near the amount that chewie has?)
Harvey hasn’t been feeling so great today, I think the stress finally caught up to him. He wasn’t eating so much and was kind of just sitting in the corner. But I’ve given him some meds for the night and he immediately started nibbling his veg! Once again I have to thank Tonys Mum as she came in and saved the day (again!) When I was freaking out ?

Dface, that’s how he got the name!!! A friend of mine runs anan unofficial bunny shelter and when I told him Boo wanted a friend he suggested this little guy, who they’d been calling two-face. I immediately thought of Harvey Dent from Batman. When I was talking about him later I was convinced his name was Harvey ? It turned out nobody else had even seen Batman at all, they were just calling him two-face because of his colouring, and I had completely invented the name Harvey! BUT his new mum liked it so it stuck ???

Harvey update -he’s been feeling much much better today! He’s eating again, though not pooping much, hopefully it’ll clear up soon! The meds definitely helped him along a lot. He also had his first (accidental) meeting with Boo! They were not able to physically touch each other but were just sniffing and inspecting each other through the carrier. Since then, Boo is now obsessed with Harvey. She will scratch and paw at the door when she sees him and tries to get to him at every possible chance! However, Harvey is quite indifferent to her and merely passes past her like she’s not there… This will be an interesting bonding experience

Dface – I actually don’t think it was territorial, I think she was genuinely just curious and wanted to find out what the bug deal was

He’s had another diahhrea incident this morning, but I’ve cut back on some foods and added more of others and he looks ok now. Im still seing wet mushy poops around but im seeing more solid poops. I’ve just got to figure out what foods, what quantities of foods etc.

Do you have a probiotic for him? Otherwise that could help stabilize his gut.

I thought he was called Harvey after the old movie with James Stewart. That Harvey rabbit is a pooka, so seemed very Irish to me  But Two-face for his harlequin facial markings is brilliant

Bam, I was told to give him Maxolon mixed with Zantac. He’s off the meds now though, he’s devouring his food and pooping well at this point. He’s really settling in
