Anyone have any fun weekend plasn?
House hunting! We’re going to look at a few promising ones tomorrow.
Sigh. I am on my “Season” schedule from Oct. to May, and that means my weekend is Thursday/Friday because I have to work Sat.-Wednesday. I am here to tell you that Friday is NOT like Sunday, not relaxing, just a bunch of chores before it rains this afternoon, and really feels like I never rest until the summer. And one of my coworkers, who has a habit of volunteering other people to do the crap work, wants us to stay open on Sundays year round, which would mean this could turn into my permanent schedule. That I’ve already told my boss is not the lifestyle I intend to live with year round. So I am wishing my weekend really was the weekend. Got any ideas for what I can do on my day off today that would be fun? Right now I just need to get greens and go to the post office.
Gee, Sarita, aren’t you glad you asked? LOL! (And yes, I am aware that my coworkers could possibly read this.
While they’re at work. Getting ready for their weekend. Pffffffftttttttt!!!!!!!!) ![]()

Sounds like fun Elrohwen!
RP, I would actually much prefer two weekdays off than the weekends especially when it comes to running errands….not as many people to bother with. Why don’t you go see a movie? I bet it won’t be crowded and it would be you and the senior citizens :~) so you can actually enjoy the movie.
I’m working at the Guinea Pig Rescue as the “store manager” haha. Been doing this for my past weekends and it actually feels like another job for me because it’s work – a bit more fun than work but work nevertheless since I stock, clean, check-out people, etc…not sure how I got stuck doing the store either. I’m frankly exhausted when I get home. I get there around 8:30 and can’t do anything until I throw some carrots in each cage for the piggies since they cause commotions, rattle the cages and wheek loudly until they are tended too and I’m normally the first one there. And I don’t leave until 5:00 p.m.
Just found out my favorite home already has an accepted offer (after being on the market less than a week!). Kind of less excited now. Oh well. I’m getting annoyed that the average houses stay on the market for 3-5 months, but the great ones are gone before I can even see them (and there have only been two great ones so far).
I’m with Sarita – having a weekday off wouldn’t be so bad! I love doing errands when the grocery store is empty and nobody’s on the roads! Though I can see how it would be hard to do things with friends if they’re all off on different days.
Sarita, that sounds awful! I love having my weekends to sit around and do nothing – I would be exhausted too having to work a full day. Hopefully you can swap the schedule with somebody else for a bit and have a few relaxing weekends.
Wow, that’s quick – you must be in a good market for sellers but not buyers…it is stressful buying and looking for a new home but you will find one just be patient, if that’s possible :~)
You know I’d love to switch but they don’t have alot of help and it’s working with money as well so they need someone they can trust and that’s not hard to do because no one else wants to work like a dog all day for free… I was enjoying laying around doing nothing for a long time and now that’s on Sundays along with house cleaning.
I think it’s a medium market – definitely not good, but certainly not as bad as some places. I just think everybody wants the same exact house that we do, so the few buyers out there snap them up immediately. There are plenty of perfectly fine houses (that aren’t our perfect house) that have been out there for 5 months now. I guess it’s a good seller’s market if you have a nicely laid out and maintained house on a good private lot! This most recent one was only online for 3 days. We’ve been looking since October I think, but there haven’t been many new houses on the market between then and now. I’m excited to see what comes up for sale in the next month or two!
That would be tricky for a rescue to find somebody to work all day and only pick from the long time trustworthy members. It’s very cool that they have a shop though! I visited a rescue in Boston with a gift shop and it was definitely drawing in potential adopters.
My only fun plans so far is getting my cable fixed today! LOL Hey, when you are home all day/night you LOVE your cable. LOL I might see a movie. My mom has some free tickets so it will depend on her schedule. Nothing exciting going on here.
I’ll be shoveling the 40 or so centimetres of snow we are supposed to get tonight. It will be nice spending the weekend at home, I’m always so busy with errands and going to the barn to work with Winnie. I kind of like “stranded in” days. Just picked up some bun veg so I will be good for a couple days. I plan on tackling some projects in my rabbit room and I’m thinking about starting quilting so maybe I will get to work on that.
Bunbuns, what movie do you want to see? I rarely go to the theater (usually just rent them later) but it seems like there are some goods ones out now.
LTP, enjoy the snow! I love snow days too. Such a great excuse to do nothing 😉
I saw “Season of the Witch” last night. It was pretty good but not something I will buy or anything. Very dark movie. Gorgeous horses though! I love medieval movies with horses in it. I love looking at the neat tack they have on.
Haha, you should just like me! I always get super excited when there are horses in movies. I heard Season of the Witch wasn’t good, but if it has pretty horses it can’t be that bad! Haha.
I kind of wanted to see “True Grit”, “Black Swan”, and “The King’s Speech”, but I doubt I’ll get it together to see any in the theater. I’ll add them all to my Netflix queue now though so I’m ready when they come to dvd.
I really want to see “The Kings’s Speech” too but all my friends think it looks to boring. I will have to wait till it’s on video. Unless you want to come to NB to catch a flick? ![]()
Deal!
Then I will steal your bunnies. Mwahahaha
My mom wants to see Season of the Witch, I’d like to see Country Strong and No Strings Attached. I’d also like to see Little Fockers. I’ll probably see one movie and the rest will be on dvd before I get around to seeing them. lol
My mother loved “The King’s Speech” and I want to see it as well. I thought Black Swan was weird…it’s a psycho sexual thriller – parts of the movie made me uncomfortable. Natalie Portman was stunning in the movie though. I cannot say I recommend it myself.
I saw Black Swan too. It was weird. Maybe I’m used to books, but I felt a lot was left out. I mean, I know the whole point was her “becoming” the black swan and allowing herself to go there, but what leads her to the other mental stuff? I’m trying not to give anything away. It just left a lot unsaid and I don’t like that. lol Oh, I know what I didn’t like about it – it doesn’t exactly follows the normal sequence of plays/movies: it starts with the background or beginning, has a middle, then the climax (conflict action) and then the denouement which is where the main conflict is resolved. (Ok – it’s totally weird to me when my knowledge of this type of Lit major stuff pops out of my brain lol) I guess it did have all that but just not in the normal way most movies are. I don’t like too much. lol
I will probably see The King’s Speech when it comes out on dvd. There are very few movies I actually care about seeing in a movie theater. I don’t HAVE to see any of the movies I listed in the theaters. My mom just happens to have 2 free tickets. lol
And since i’m home now ALL THE TIME, I’ve been watching a lot of movies. ![]()
and I now HATE that symphony. lol

I do! I do! I’m adopting Bailey’s new friend tomorrow! ![]()
Can’t wait to hear all about him BaileyBun :~)
I’m just unpacking boxes here and there. I’ve unpacked 3 clothes boxes and put the clothes in my closet. It is quite nice to have a walk in.. all the clothes and shoes stay IN the closet.
My dad and I went to a one-stop shop grocery store last night and I picked up some NIC grids. I needed to buy a box of the grids to rabbit proof the tv area.
I really hope my dad makes an appointment with the clinic that I go to. My dad switched over to a new provider. He was tired of going to one clinic because he rarely saw his doctor and saw physican assistants
. The doctors and the PAs weren’t very thorough with exams
. The clinic that I go to has good doctors and are patient. There is one doctor from Turkey, she used to work at the CDC (Control Disease Center) and now works at the clinic that I go to.
My dad began a ‘most of the time’ vegan due to his gout outbreaks. He has had no flareups in 5-6 months and I am happy. Gout is a form of arthritis. He thinks that he has psoriasis. It isn’t curable, but manageable.. It is likely inherited, happens when there is a change in diet
It is beginning to bother him, and if he doesn’t make the appointment for next week, I WILL ![]()
Sorry for the rant ![]()
I have a weekend free of RA stuff and classes for a change, so I guess I will spend it.. bonding bunnies?
I will be spending the weekend buying textbooks (ow my poor wallet; why are textbooks so expensive??) and enjoying my weekend before the shcoolwork *really* hits.
I discovered Doctor Who last week, and watched the first five seasons (45 minutes per episode, ~13 episodes per season = ~50 hours) all in the past week, heh. Probably will start on (or finish…) the sixth season this weekend! I realized last night how much I apparently enjoy sci-fi series…I guess this makes me way more of a dork than I thought before ![]()

I’ve seen “Requiem for a Dream”, by the same director, so I’m prepared for the uncomfortable aspect. I know with Requiem I was very glad I’d seen it, and thought it was a great movie, but one I would never want to see again
It was very disturbing, but I’m still glad I saw it.
A disturbing movie you have to see: Hard Candy
Never heard of that one, MB! Who’s in it? What’s it about?
I had to look that one up Elrohwen – sounds very disturbing but intriguing. You may like “Black Swan” then :~) I talked my mom and aunt of if it because I felt they would not have liked it since it was not light hearted or romantic and I think they thought it would be like that and it was far from it.
Uh, yeah, that does sound disturbing!!
o_O Did I see Ellen Page on the list of actors?
Yeah
I love Ellen Page. She’s from the Maritimes which is awesome! I just watched Inception and it was really good. All the hot guys in it helped a bit too. ![]()
oooo… adoptng a bun! that IS fun
i’m going to a star wars b-day party for my nephew… woohoo! and lunch out with the girls. of course also the usual couching, cleaning and cooking for next week.
i’d love to see ‘the kings speech’. it does look like a quiet movie but sometimes that’s a nice break. plus collin firth is a sweetie
i also want to see ‘the dilema’ which hasn’t really gotten great reviews but vince vaughn cracks me up.
My weekend is going to be filled with riding my horses and training my brother and sister in-laws horses! weee! ![]()

I like Ellen also
I’m not sure if I would watch Hard Candy though.
I still need to see Inception.. somebody (my boyfriend) saw it without me.. ![]()
I am SO PSYCHED for the 2nd part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in July
I’m going to cosplay a Slytherin girl ![]()
i wasn’t sure if I could watch it either, but it’s a fabulous movie.
my boyfriend and friends sometimes say I’m a guy trapped in a girl’s body– I love gory, action packed, twisted movies way better than chick flicks lol =X so I’ve been trying to watch black swan for awhile now but I just haven’t had the time! I joined the gym this year to finally get in shape and it’s actually pretty time consuming combined with my job. after the gym I get so tired I just want to sit at home with my buns =D
this weekend though I’m going to stop being a granny. I haven’t been out since new years, and even then I just went to a low-key shindig at a friend’s house. plus I don’t usually go out weekends since I have to work early mornings =[ but, tomorrow I’m going to have to figure out how to dress up again and go out to a lounge and apparently, a toga party afterwards lol. I never went to a toga party during college so I’m a little late, but what the hell.
bunny and house hunting sounds super exciting! I wish I had my own HOUSE so I could get more animals haha. plus I’ve wanted to give nikka & rorschach their own room for awhile now =P
oh and sidenote: inception is AMAZING. I’ve watched it 4 times now because I keep trying to figure out the meaning of everything lol. it’s definitely a movie that makes you think afterwards. highly recommend it. sorry my post is all over the place… I think I have A.D.D. and I really did poke through everyone’s response on here haha.
oh and other sidenote: [inner dude speaking] if anyone here plays COD black ops on a ps3 [which… I doubt. but you never know!] my psn is hellaSCONED. feel free to add me! I play alot. =X
angie-la, my boyfriend and I play COD black ops :p I don’t have the ps3 though.. weh.
DH plays CoD all the time! He’s kind of focusing on Halo: Reach right now, but he kind of switches back and forth. I’m terrible though, so I only play the campaign modes, not online.
School started this week on Tuesday. By Thursday, I was sick. Yesterday (Friday) I saw my first patient for the semester, finished her. Got home and took a nap for a couple hours. This weekend I’m trying to lay low and rest before a full week of school starts again. Just started reading the new Stephen King “Full Dark, No Stars”. It’s 4 shorter “novellas”… Read the first one yesterday.
Ahhh I think I’m getting sick too
. I took Friday off from school just as a precaution; I’d rather take a “health day” off and feel better than be miserable for the next two weeks!
I’m so sad that it’s already Saturday night…that means it’s almost Sunday, then end of the weekend! Noooooooo…
Beka, what do you see patients for? Are you a healthcare professional?
Tomorrow is my last day at my sucky retail job
I’ll be at the smoothie bar from now on for 20 hours a week.
My manager asked me to work Saturday morning.. and I was slammed with 7 customers all at once. Do they plan this or something? LOL. Some were getting impatient.. but hey, they’re all going to get their smoothie. There was also this diabetic woman who was going into diabetic shock, I think? She got something to eat, but if something were to happen to her, I would kind of feel responsible :-/ I asked if she had insulin or anything, she said no.. I was really disappointed and kind of sad ![]()

I’m in dental hygiene school. Last semester, graduate in MAY!!! Woohooo!!!!!
I ended up calling off work at my crappy retail job on Saturday. I can afford to miss a day of work, I cannot afford to miss a day of school!
I’m spending my Sunday afternoon puppy sitting my Mom’s new dog. She’s so bad! I’m spending a few afternoons a week here while Mom is working to help puppy train Lily.
We saw some houses yesterday and really loved one of them! We loved it so much that we’re going to put an offer in. Unfortunately the taxes are so high in that area that we can’t afford it for the price we thought 🙁 The taxes are so much higher than other areas and after our mortgage guy priced it out it seems ridiculous to pay $400 more per month than we would in a cheaper district. So we’re going to put in a low-ball offer and see if they take it! It hasn’t been on the market long so I’m not too hopeful, but we’ll see. The house has beautiful high ceilings and is in a great semi-rural area, but still close to work and all of our friends. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
The owners actually had a little black nethie in a cage off the kitchen! I kept stopping by to say hi and give it pets while we were walking around the house 😀 Maybe it’s a sign?
LPT, I think we need pictures! I’m puppy deprived.
Sounds exciting Elrohwen – keeping my fingers crossed for you!
