        Hello,

I have Penie for 2 months now. I adopted her from a shelter. She is 4.5 years old fix. She is happy and very high energy. She becomes a best friend with my another bunny, Chao-Guay, a 3-year-old male fix. Anyway, recently, I notice Penie’s fur becomes loose. I see small loose clumps everywhere on her body. They are easy to pull, so I keep pulling them out. But now to the point I feel like the new fur may not grow fast enough. She eats and acts normally. Eat a lot of hey, 1/4 cup of pallets, and fresh salad daily. So, is anything I need to concern at this point?

        Thank you

I am no expert but both of our buns are shedding right now and pur little boys fur comes out in tufts like your picture. After a week or so it stops until he sheds again. Our little girl has the odd patches of uneven fur like your picture and she is not bald yet but has a LOT of fur. It eventually comes back in. Again, both are shedding badly right now and grooming them at least twice a week. Beautiful bunny you have!

Hello, yes she is an absolutely beautiful bunny.
I have two rabbits and when they both moult I could make a whole quilt from the fur that is coming out from them.
It usually goes up their backs like a wave or a hula hula skirt, so don’t worry and keep brushing those hairs out because it will make them feel comfier with the loose fur gone.

Thank you guys. I feel better now. I was worried because my the other bunny already shedded last spring. I didn’t know they have different time of shedding. Anyway, I try different brushes for her but nothing work. So, I have to keep pulling her fur then.

I usually just pet my bunny and all the fur comes off, does the fur still stay?

I have to make her fur messy first, so it’s easy for me to pull the loose hair.

Definitely looks like a molt. When bunnies are molting it’s pretty obvious because they often have molt lines (like what you see in the pictures). Lightly pulling out the fur is beneficial as it helps them get rid of excess fur so it doesn’t lead to them ingesting it.
