So my husband had Momo feeding duty yesterday and when I asked him what he gave her, he mentioned he gave her the broccoli stalk I had left over from some veggie pizzas I made last week, as well as her usual salad greens. I asked how much of it he gave her, and he said all of it!
Momo loves broccoli, but I only ever give it to her in small quantities. He just took the head off the stalk and put that in her bowl. So naturally she ate all of it. I informed him that it was way too much broccoli for her to have at once, and he was like “It wasn’t all that much, I just gave her the top not the whole thing.” In his defense, he really did not know how much was too much.
So this morning when my husband had to be up early for work, this is how it went.
Hubby: “Hey sweetie, you need to wake up now.”
Me: “Why?” *still half asleep*
Hubby: “The bun is covered in poop.”
Me: “What…” *waking up more*
Hubby: “Yeah, it is all over her paws, and tummy.”
Me: “WHAT?!”
Sure enough she had poo on all of her paws, her bum, her tail, and her chest. My husband had to be to work so I got the lovely task of cleaning the mess that was his fault all by myself. She does not trance well and is a kicker, so I decided it would be easier on both of us for me to put an inch or so of warm water in the tub and do it that way. Yes I know bunnies are not supposed to have baths, but I felt that me trying to hold her down and wipe that amount of poo off of her by myself would have been more difficult for both of us. This way it all came off realitively easy, but she was not happy about it. Then I wrapped her up in a warm towel and cuddled her until she stopped whimpering at me. It was heartbreaking how scared she was.
