I gave Olly some salad today, then said. “There you go my boy, make you big and strong that will lovely, its got carrot, greens, what else? Where is my magnifying glass?” Olly was munching away as I looked for my magnifier glass, I found it, its a special one because of my eyes and read the bag, I said. “Right its got carrots rocket, oh no baby stop, its got Iceberg lettuce in, Mummy is so sorry baby.” I went into his pen and stroked him and said. “I’ll just take the lettuce, you know Mummy never gives you lettuce because she’s unsure, iceberg is nice but not for a special boy like you.” I always talk to Olly like  this.

I called the vets and I was told he might have some runny poop, if it gets really bad to take him in and to make sure he has plenty of hay and water.

Its been over 5 hours and he’s fine, is the panic over?

I never meant to do it, I’ll have to get some sticky bright coloured stickers because of my eyes so I know what’s Olly’s.

I think he’ll be just fine! A little bit of iceberg doesn’t harm a bunny. It’s a myth that iceberg is toxic to buns. Probably stems from way back when iceberg lettuce was pretty much the only fresh veg that was available all year round. So people fed iceberg to their young buns. When the young buns got diarrhea, it was blamed on the iceberg when in fact it was too rapid intro of too much lettuce or the really heavy duty pesticides that were used back then, or even coccidiosis that would’ve broken out anyway.

Iceberg lettuce has very low nutritional content, so it’s not a good food for buns. But it isn’t harmful in small amounts.
