        Hello!

I’m thinking of expanding my Bun’s habitat. She deserves bigger! Better! More exciting!

I just wanted some advice on what you think works best. I have looked into the cubes, but I’m wondering if I should try to create something custom. She does need a full enclosure. We have tried giving her more freedom with a baby gate across her bedroom door (yeah, she has her own room, don;t tell anyone that we are this whooped!) but she can easily jump over the gate.

What has worked for you guys? What do you reccomend?

        Thanks!

The way I expanded Sophie’s is that I gave her a play yard. She still has her Superpet 2 floor condo, but I put one of those puppy playyards around it as a fence, she has an extra 8-10 feet of play area. Under it is an old sheet and she has all of her toys in her “yard”. It works great and is MUCH cheaper than the cubes. You can also take the puppy yard fence down when you have guests and put it away. works for us!

I am a huge fan of xpens!  They work wonderfully well.

XPens are really good because they are flexible, you can configure them in what ever way fits your space.  You can even add or remove panels as you need to.  The downside with them is that they are expensive.  If you want to get a cheaper xpen, check your local Craig’s List and Freecycle, people are sometimes giving them away or selling them cheaply.

I second the Craigslist suggestion.  I got my X-pen for $30 (from a dog person) and my carrier for $20 (from a cat person).
