New member here! I just got a bunny 2 days ago and she turned 9wks yesterday 7/9/18. Iv noticed when I let her out to roam around she grooms and scratches a lot.. I don’t know if I should be worried she hasn’t no fleas or mites. Is this normal? Could it just be her adult fur coming in making her itchy? It’s not constant but it’s oftem Am I just a over paranoid mama?!

Rabbits groom themselves very often in general. Is the skin on/in her ears flaky or crumbly? You would normally be able to see fleas if you comb/brush the bunny – it’s a bit trickier with mites since most mites cannot be seen by the human eye and requires a vet to verify.

If she is shaking her head a lot and scratching it constantly then it may be a good idea to bring her to a rabbit savvy vet. Actually, it’s good if you could bring her to one anyway just to have a general health check and make sure she’s healthy.
