Kieko has very thick but very short fur, but her fur is silky. My lops have thick fluffy fur that’s longer (1/2 inch to an inch or so long). The furminater is good at getting the undercoat which seems to be wear all of Kieko’s shed comes from. The hairbuster seems to get the undercoat as well as general loose for. When we pet Kieko, nothing comes off on our hands. With the lops, we can get loose fur off their butts by just running our hands through their fur. I have used the furminater on the lops, but it seemed to pull on them more. Another way to look at those two — the furminater is more of a drag across the fur (short drag motion) and the hairbuster is more like combing the fur. Holding the hairbuster pointed straight at the bunny will get the flyaways, and tilting it will get flyaways and undercoat. Hope that makes sense. The hairbuster is also half the price of the furminater. . .
