A while ago my hamster had a grain mite infestation in his enclosure. His cage is right next to my rabbits in my room. I got rid of them within a few weeks and also did a deep clean of my rabbits cage to be safe. Today I refilled my rabbits water and like 30 mins later it was filled with a TON of the grain mites. Does anyone know if these can hurt her? Theyre so tiny and my room is carpeted so I have no idea how long theyve been around her pen for and how long she’s been drinking water with them in there. If anyone has dealt with these and has any tips to get rid of them please let me know, I have a vaccuum but its not very good so I’m not sure if it’ll get rid of them but I’m going to try.

Hmm… I can’t imagine grain mites sticking around if their food source is eliminated. Are you sure they are grain mites? They would be super tiny and hard to see…. like less than half a millimeter. Are they attracted to the bedding/litter you are using? What does your bunny have in his enclosure?
