Hi All,
My bunny girl, Fiddle, is five months old and I think I may have found a worm in her droppings. I took her to the vet who did an examination and a fecal test, but found nothing. She said that it may be pinworms and told me to get a pinworm dewormer at petsmart. Turns out Petsmart doesn’t have it and a lot of people use horse dewormer at a tiny dose (it has the same active ingredient). So I’m using an alfala based grain dewormer for my girl.
I calculated the dose, but the problem is, the she doesn’t like the taste of the grain . . . at all. When I give it to her plain, she won’t touch it and when I mix it with her Oxbow food, she picks out the good stuff and tips the medicated pellets onto the floor.
I was thinking of sprinkling juice from a fruit over them or something like that. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could get her to eat this stuff? I really need to start her on the dewormer now!
Thanks so much!
CMarie
