My mom met a lady who has a small farm where she raises Shetland Sheep for wool, and grows her own hay. She put me in touch with her and I ordered a bale of hay. Timothy and brome mixed, with some alfalfa. She said the alfalfa is pretty minimal, since it is fattening for her sheep. $3.50 is all I payed for it. Last night I broke the bale down and filled 5 garbage bags worth. Four in the attic for storage. So far Momo seems to approve.

Not sure on the weight, my husband did all of the hauling. 30 lbs maybe? When you live near farming communities, the prices on stuff like hay and straw is a lot lower. I live in the city now, but my mom is close enough to the farmers still.
