Going on vacation! What to do with bunny?

Before I got Mimzy, I made plans with my bf & his family to go to Disney land this month but I’m so worried about Mimzy! Does anyone have experience leaving their buns when on vacation?

My friends have a bunny so they said they wouldn’t mind watching her but I have to bring her to them & set her cage up at their house. I’m a little nervous about it still because they made mention before that they wanted a bunny playmate. Theirs is 2yr old unspayed femaleness &mine is 4mos unspayed as well. I told them I would prefer they don’t meet especially since mimzy has become a bit territorial around other pets lately. Would anyone suggest boarding her at a vet instead? Or should I just stress to them that I don’t want the 2 to have contact?

I would have my mom do it but she doesn’t know anything about bunnies and already will be caring for my bird while I’m gone. 

So if anyone has any advice! I’ve never had to do this before haha. Also, would a checklist for my friends be useful? Just a little nervous about leaving her

I would board her with your friend since she has a rabbit and just make it clear not to have them go on “playdates” and let her know the dangers of putting 2 rabbits together who are not altered and bonded. She’s get more attention at your friends and hopefully better care than at a vet’s office.

I agree with sarita also if you are worried that much and feel the need to make a checklist then go ahead I did the same thing with lilly. Good luck!

I agree with Sarita. Just stress that your bunny is very territorial and you are afraid one or both bunnies will be injured.

I’ve had a pet sitter come to my house and I’ve left my buns with friends at their house. Either method is fine! I wouldn’t leave them at the friends’ house if they are going to introduce the bunnies though – only leave her with them if you can trust them. Being in a home is less stressful than a vet’s office, so I’d try to make it work with the friend.

Whomever she goes to, make sure you pack enough food for her and give instructions on how and when she’s fed.

Thanks everyone I think if I stress enough, it should be fine. One of my dogs (who is actually scared of mimzy) came into my room recently and she growled and lunged at his legs lol. He’s about 3 times taller than her too!
I think they’ll understand if I explain it

I think I’m going to meet up with them later this week and go over a few things before bringing her over there. Thanks again everyone
