Hi everyone. So yesterday Pamper was acting a bit lazy, but I figured that it was because she was kept inside (because of high temperatures here in Argentina, she didn’t go outside to play as usual so, inside she usually sleeps more). During the day I gave her 1 Oxbow Papaya Fruit tablet for digestive health, like I do lately.
Cleaning out her cage yesterday I found some hair. She has been hormonal, with the honking and pooping everywhere. I’m waiting till I finish my tests to take her to get spayed, so I can pay my full attention to her recovery.
And yesterday night when I was going to take her back in to her condo, I saw her hunched up in a ball. I went back to look at her alfalfa tray and she hadn’t eaten any of it (which was freshly placed a couple hours back).
I gave her some belly massages and tried to feed her some alfalfa myself, which she ate some of but not too much. Since by then it was 2 am I decided to go to sleep and see in the morning if she had pooped. I was so worried that I didn’t sleep at all and found her like this at 5 am (second attachment).Seeing this I gave her half more of the tablets.
So I went outside and got some basil (her favorite) and fresh grass and washed them and fed them to her which she ate. She is now in a more relaxed position (lounging) but still no poops. I made her go closer to the water bowl and she drank some but not too much.
The problem is I don’t have a well-trusted rabbit pet. There aren’t many here in Argentina and the one I got recommendations for has a clinic which is very very far away and I depend on my mom to drive me there in this case.
What do I do? Should I give her more grass? Should I give her more belly massages? Should I give her another papaya pill? Please help.
