GI Stasis recovery

Hi all!!  I haven’t been on in quite some time, but I’m hoping some more experienced members can help me with this….

(background) I went on vacation for 5 days.  When I got back Lily was in the very early stages of GI Stasis.  I tried some gas meds (in case that was the issue), heat, and massages.  After a day that didn’t work so we went to the vet.  Vet saw a mass in her stomach so we started hairball meds, pain meds, antibiotics, critical care, and the 3rd med I can’t remember.

Anyways… personality wise, she’s back to normally.  But extra cuddly (not complaining).  Her stool is still small and she hasn’t gained back all the weight she lost (just some), but her appetite is totally back to normal (eating machine status). 

My question is, should I be concerned with the small stool or is this just part of the recovery.  Meds last doses were on Friday (6th).  Should I take her to the vet for another xray to check the stomach again? 

This is my 1st time experiencing this.

If she’s eating normally now, I think the poop will get back to normal. You can of course always call your vet and ask if they want to see her again, but it can take a couple of weeks for a bunny tum to get back in full working order after a bout of stasis.

Thanks!!  I’ll wait a till the following weekend and see what happens (of course if other symptoms happen I will take her sooner).  I just wasn’t sure how long a full recovery would take.  But she definitely back to eating everything and she can jump on the couch now, which she couldn’t do while she was sick/recovering.

Not a very nice welcome home for you! Glad to hear she is recovering okay. How are her hay eating habits? Lots of hay should help improve poop size.

She’s back to normal now. Glad she’s better, but she’s also back to stealing things off the coffee table and not as cuddly.
