GI Stasis Cure

So, two years ago Ms. Hopz was not eating, drinking, or pooping. I took her into the vet who really didn’t do much for her but give her saline shots. Hours later, she was looking way worse and very lethargic. My boyfriend and I were so scared we were about to lose her and nothing seemed to help her. Finally, I found the number of the breeder I got her from and she suggested canned pumpkin (no additives just pumpkin, it’s in the baking aisle). I force fed her with a dropped and 20 minutes later she was up and eating!! I have passed this along to a friend when critical care didn’t even help her bun and she had the same result. I am posting in case anyone ever has a situation where nothing is working. Also, I only have given it to her when it was an emergency so no need to worry her diet is mostly Timothy hay, few pellets, and a small amount of fresh greens. Hope this helps someone!!

Force feeding—especially with a high-fiber food, is usually the best way to kick-start the gi. I am glad you have had this result with your bunny—I have heard of people mixing pumpkin with critical care.
