My rabbits live mainly indoors in their own bedroom but I have a run outdoors for them during the day when the weather is nice. However in the little hutch I have for them while their outside has become infested with earwigs!
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get rid of the bugs naturally without harming the rabbits.
It is a small little hutch just big enough for my two rabbits to flop down in and to get some shelter while their outside during the day when the weather is nice. They don’t need to be in the hutch as half of the run is covered with a tarp so they can be sheltered if it starts to rain and also from the sun and they go in and out as they chose and it doesn’t seem to bother them too much that there are a ton of earwigs in the corners of the hutch! Also the rabbits don’t tend to use the hutch that often, but I’m not sure if that is because they don’t want to be in there and would rather just be chillin out on the grass or it is because of all the bugs as I know rabbits are clean animals.
But I don’t like the fact that they are there. I was wondering if anyone knows if they can cause any harm to the rabbits (I don’t think that they do as they’ve been there for a while and the rabbits seem to be fine) and if anyone has any tips on how I can combat the bugs. I leave the hutch outside all of the time even when the rabbits are inside so it is exposed to the elements. I could bring it into the shed at night but it would be a lot of hassle for me as its quite heavy and I am unable to lift it without help. So I would like to avoid having to do that.
Also if you think that I’m being dramatic about the bugs and that theyre harmless please let me know too!!
