Since coming home last Friday evening from having her spay done Gabby has been confined to the laundry room. We have a child gate put up and she stands up to see you when you walk that way. She has taken to biting on the end of it and there’s little pieces of it on the floor. She gets so upset when she realizes you are walking out of her room and she can’t come with you. Sometimes she honks or stands up and gazes pitifully.

Today I got tired of the pitiful stares and I made the ugliest gate to keep her from getting in the living room. She can come out of the laundry room and spend time in the kitchen and dining room area as well as the laundry room. I thought this would make her happy and quit the begging. But no, now she comes up to the ugly gate I made and stands up and stares at us while we watch tv and then if we don’t look at her she chews the bars of it.

I’ve been spending lots of time with her but she still begs so much to come be in the living room. I wish she understood mama doesn’t not love her but just wants her stapled spay area to completely heal before she jumps up on the couches and chairs. Needless to say I’m spending lots of my days and evenings laying on the floor massaging the pitiful beggar to keep her happy as I can.
