A few of fundraisers we have done:
Bunny Spa Day – We have separate tables for weighing and checking ears, one for grooming, one for nail clipping. We also bring in items to sell. We generally ask a $10 donation for the family and give them a zoom groom which we use to brush their rabbits and a small toy.
Vet Medical Talk – this is a good one for fundraising – if you have a vet that works with the shelter then ask if they can put together a talk on basic bunny illnesses (cause, cure, etc.) and do some questions and answers afterwards – charge a donation at the door. We also did some little medical kits to go along with this. You will probably have to help the vet get organized on this – depends on the vet of course – they sometimes get busy and we always offer to help in anyway we can to help get them prepared.
Bunny Basics Class – you can have volunteers and board members give talks on care, litter training, diet, etc…this is good to invite the public who has rabbits and may not know the “proper” care of rabbits or at least your philosophy. Charge a donation at the door per family again.
We do alot of Open Houses around the holidays at our sanctuary – kind of themed events to get members and the public in to see our rabbits and we sell a bunch of rabbit items. We also do stockings at Christimas and baskets at Easter for the rabbits of course, but you can be creative and maybe do a Spooky Open House around Halloween and things like that.
