BeaTrix isn’t actually my bunny, she’s my best friend Lauren’s. I used to town a little lionhead named Tulip, but sadly had to get rid of her. I went over to Lauren’s house the other day and Bea had no food or water, was sitting in a wire mesh cage (about 36in x 48in), with no hay. She is an angora, so she’s not tiny! I was appalled, and asked Lauren if I could get her out to play with her. When I picked her up I realized that her nails were about an inch long. I trimmed them (she held perfectly still, and let me handle her like a pro) then put her down. She immediately started running around, jumping and having a great time. I may have just created my account, but I’ve lurked for long enough, and owned a bunny for 6 months to recognize when they’re happy. We had a lot of fun playing together, and I fed her some carrots. Eventually it was time to put her back. Lauren’s parents said they’d give her to me, and I called my parents but they will NOT allow anymore pets in our house (three dogs and a cat are apparently enough) even though I have enough of my own money (I work at a barn) to take care of her. So I made a list of everything she should have/care, and gave it to my friends mom (talk about awkward!). She said they couldn’t give her timothy hay because it made her poop (no duh!) and that giving her blankets to burrow in and boxes just encouraged her to chew (yes, that’s what bunnies DO). They saved her from becoming a meat rabbit (she’s tattooed and everything) but they’re doing a horrible job of taking care of her. I don’t know what do! Please help??? I’m going back tomorrow with toys for her, minerals blocks, proper food, and hay… beyond that I’m at a loss. Sorry for being so wordy, here’s some adorable pics of her!
