Hi! I’ve been posting a bit but haven’t done a proper introduction. My name is Natasha, I’m 23 yrs. old, and I live in Somerville, MA near Harvard where I go to school at. My bunny’s name is Franz and he’s 8 wks. old.  He’s a silky angora bunny. Brown face, grey body, his fur has shiny copper rings in it. I live next to a spinning and knitting shop and I plan on making some Franz scarves as he was bred to be a wool bunny. I’ve had him for about 5 days now and I’m working on my bunny only room.  Right now he lives in my bedroom. He’s pretty much potty trained as he’s never peed anywhere on the floor and only leaves little poops. He likes all the things I make for him. He’s super well mannered and doesn’t chew on things besides all his toys and hay.  I just started clicker training him yesterday. Here’s some pictures of my binky bunny, Franz!

Fluffy bunny butt! Well, who would’ve thought a bunny butt would make my day?

Welcome! And hello to your sweet pretty bunny Franz! I can see the copper rings in his fur I think. It looks like he’ll be giving you a lot of wool! I love his little feet by his bunny-rearend in the last photo – they look like he’s got men’s socks on! That’s not iceberg lettuce he’s eating, is it? As you may not have read, iceberg lettuce not good for bunnies. Other kinds, yes~ Looks like he’s got a wonderful home with you. Have fun with him.

Hey lol yeah I love his bunny butt omg and yeah it looks like he’s wearing white tipped socks! Thanks about the iceberg lettuce. I don’t think that’s iceburg (90% sure) it’s wide leafed and very ruffled. I don’t think my veggie share gives iceburg. Do you know why it’s bad? I think I’ve heard that before back when I had a guinea piggie as a kid.

Sure…I want our bunnies to be healthy so they’ll be happy, and whenever I see a flag’s up, I pass it on in the spirit of making it better for the bun, and in this case avoiding possible digestive upsets. Jerseygirl, would you know? I’m not sure specifically what harm iceberg lettuce can do to bunnies except that it causes gastro-intestinal problems I believe, possibly diarrhea or other upsets. If I find an article on it, or mention on what it does, I’ll pass it along.

Iceburg lettuce contains a lot of water which can cause an upset tummy or diarrhea. The lettuce in the photo looks like green leaf lettuce to me which is a good veggie! My buns get it every day. It isn’t “harmful” per say just not the most nutritious veggie on the menu! Welcome, Franz is adorable! Little cotton ball!

Iceburg is pretty much ALL water. It has pretty much no nutrients at all, which means bunnies fill up on nothing. Thus why it is bad

I took some pics of the rings in his fur with my iphone. That’s not the light, his fur is that color!

Those contrasting rings in his fur are beautiful. You are going to be making some gorgeous scarves and sweaters! An angora beret would be darling, too~
