Our flemish giant/lop rabbit’s name is Archie. He is about a year and a half old and has been fixed for at least a year now. When we first got him we were able to potty train him no problem. We moved about 6 months ago and he struggled a little bit with the move but he fell back into his normal litter habits. About a month ago Archie started leaving piles of poop in the hallway outside of the laundry room where his litter box is. No big deal except I noticed he was peeing on the floor in the laundry room almost exclusivley. We cleaned the litter box right away hoping it would help him get back on track. This didn’t work. We moved the litter box into the middle of the room thinking he might be having trouble on the tile floor. That didn’t work either. We laid a bunch of towels out so he wouldn’t have to touch the tile floor. Still nothing he just peed on the towel instead. We have hay in the litter box, we have tried to change litters which didn’t help either. He has never peed anywhere but the floor of the laundry room and he only poops right outside the door. So he isn’t afraid of the room (the washer and dryer has never bothered him). I am really frustrated and have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

Maybe go for a checkup just in case. Sudden behaviour changes (even, and especially when they appear as if the animal has become stubborn or are ‘doing something they know is wrong’) are often medical. It’s best to rule that out first.

Then I might add a litter box in the hallway where he is pooping, and as for the laundry room, maybe a bigger box, and put it exactly where he’s peeing. Often less room to roam and more litter boxes will solve the issue.
