Every day we feed Frankie a certain amount of lettuce and pellets in the morning, and then we give him a certain amount of pellets and mixed vegetables at night. We have been doing this with him for over a year now and last night I was such a tired mess coming home from work that I remembered to give him his pellets, but not the mixed veggies!!! I know that bunnies are super sensitive to change in their diet, so I checked his tummy to make sure it felt soft this morning, and then I gave him his usual amount of lettuce with a few spinach leaves to help make up for yesterday. I just want to know if he will be ok with that, and me giving him a little extra again when I feed him tonight, or if I should give him a little bit of critical care today and tomorrow to help his digestive tract a little more. I feel so stupid for forgetting to give him his veggies last night!! Please help!!

I think he’ll be fine. Does he have access to hay and water all the time? A bun should always be able to have an extra nibble on hay if need be, so as long as he has hay, forgetting vegs one night won’t matter. It can cause some stink eye though.

Rabbits are more sensitive to getting significant amounts of sth they’ve never eaten before. So new food should be introduced slowly.

As long as he had access to unlimited hay, plus his pellets, he should be ok going without veg for one evening. If he happily ate his veg this morning, then he shouldn’t need critical care. I would just give the usual amount of veg tonight, not extra.

Assuming he has access to hay 24/7, there’s no need for critical care Critical care is for when buns aren’t eating.

                    ?
Then he’ll have no problem and no need for Critical Care or extra veg, as the others have said ?

I’m pretty sure he will be fine. Heck, we’ve all ran out of veggies at one point. Going without for one night isn’t the end of the world.
