  So, I want to make it fairly clear that I don’t have any intentions of adopting another bunny anytime soon, but I also haven’t totally dismissed it as a possibility for the future. Actually, one of the reasons I adopted Theodore was because of how comfortable he seems to be / has adjusted to being a singleton. He’s in a house where he gets lots of attention from all four of the people that live here, as well as Olive the cat, who adores him (he’s still not totally sure about HER, though).
  
  When I adopted Theodore, the adopter told me he HATED other rabbits, and that all of her attempts to bond him prior to adoption had not only failed – he had attempted to severely injure any other bunny he was introduced to. (I should mention, Theodore is about 1-2 years old, and neutered.)
  
  I was wondering, though – could this just have been bad luck or bad choices for potential partners, or a botched bonding process? Or is it really possible that he does not and likely will never have any interest in a mate?

  I feel like perhaps the last owner was just not bonding your bun with others properly. As far as I know rabbits love to be with others like them, since by nature they live in groups of their own.
  
  If you ever want to get him a friend I’d say you take him with you to the shelter so he gets to pick a bunny himself, either way, I’m sure he doesn’t really need a friend just because he gets enough attention c:

  Some rabbits can be more territorial than others, but I don’t think any are really unbondable.. he just might take a while (possibly months) to warm up to a bun. Or he could meet the love of his life. Just do dating and have patience if you ever do want to bond him.

  One of my rabbits was nasty to me AND other rabbits until he got used to Jane,the love of his life, at which point he was not only in love with her, he became nicer to me! He was about 4 years old at the time and I think he was a pretty unhappy bunny until she came along. My Gus is a bachelor and I’m not sure if/when I’ll get him a friend either.

  I think whatever you decide will be fine. I lean toward the “all bunnies are bondable”, given enough effort and time. If you choose for Theodore to remain a single bun, he’ll be just as happy, especially since he’s already bonded with a funny-looking rabbit!!!

  All bunnies are bondable but not necessarily to every bunny. Is that a fair statement?

  It can be very rewarding to have a single bunny who is looking to YOU for attention, and singles can be very happy with their human/other species companions, so getting a second definitely isn’t something you need to feel obligated to do. It sounds like he’s very well adjusted with you.

  I got lucky with my bonding lol. Both my buns were from the same litter and have always and will always be together. They are so cute to watch when they snuggle n groom one another. Every day I am glad I went back and bought Meatloaf. Separating these two woulda been a crime. I am personally all for a playmate, but it seems like Theo has plenty of them already. I just say keep an open mind to the possibility of a second bunbun. They are fun to watch together lol. ♡♡♡

  They are indeed fun. Especially when they chase eachother lol. So cute and lil theo is super cute too! I love his markings =]
