I know a lot of people have their piggies in cages on top of the rabbit condo.

For those of you that have that..how many squares high is the rabbit condo?  Would piggie cages on top of an already 3 square high bunny condo be too high you think?

Do you find that the bunnies mind having the piggies on top of them?

My cats used to sleep on top of the cavy cage, and all seemed to love the closeness.  Not sure about bunnies, but I’d think maybe they might enjoy the companionship, without the actual interaction.  But I’m new to bunnies.  I don’t think animals care how high they are (they may even liek the eyecontact they get from people when higher up) but I’d be careful the whole set up is very secure– cavies and bunnies are both fragile.

Yea the cage is really secure..we were thinking of adding another level for Tucker anyway, but it seems we might be rescuing some piggies from a bad situation, so if we do that they would go there instead. Not that Tucker would mind lol..his castle is pretty huge for a little dwarf bunny who also gets the kitchen too!

what would you do? a NIC cage for the pigs? the ones i’ve seen have only been 1 grid high, so i think as long as you can stand and reach in comfortably to clean and feed, that should work. you might want to reinforce the condo with something, 2x4s maybe?

Yea I’d do a NIC cage for them. I was planning on doing one high, I could definitely reach in. how do you mean reinforce it?

maybe attach 2×2 or 2×4 wood to the edges of Tucker’s cage. something to help with the extra weight of the piggies jumping around on top. i’m no architect, but maybe your husband would have an idea…?

have you seen this site? you could make the pig cage the same cube width and length as the bunny…
