Some bunnies are quite anxious and constantly periscope to see over the edge of their hutch. Molly did little else when she was confined to her hutch to recover from her spay.

To make life easier for her I made her a dais: a raised platform on one side of her hutch, so she could look over the edge and see everything that’s happening in the room. There’s a cloth hung over it to give protection from above, this makes bunnies more secure.

The dais itself was made from a cardboard box which is fixed to the side of the hutch by tie-wraps. It’s covered with a Toftlund synthetic sheepskin from IKEA: these are washable and very soft.

The dais has become prime real estate in our house and it’s the favourite lounging spot of both Owen and Molly.

May I present: Tsarina Catharina Molly the 5th! She looks so royal when she rests her head on her dewlap… Like a little Tsarina huddled in her fur mantle. She was recovering from her spay in full comfort ^_^

This is a lovely and very bunny appropriate  tip! She does look very much the Tsarina on this apparently very comfy throne! 🥰 I have a blue Toftlund (they csme in blue and apricot a couple of years back). It really is super soft and plushy.
